my aprilia sr, UPDATED many pics ON PAGE 2
ill just start from the beginning when i first got the bike
right,
so after riding around on a speedfight 100 for the last couple of months and having to replace the cylinder/piston i decided to sell it,
and get an aprilia sr 125
its a 1999
piaggio 2 stroke ac
completely standard

so far ive ordered and fitted some koso gp stlye clocks,
ive also sprayed the wheels black and removed the plastic engine cover and painted the case black and ive fitted a bracket for my tomtom sat nav,
last but not least i got an alarm/immobilisor fitted to try and keep the crooks away
ive fitted the koso's (click pic to watch video)
and ive also installed a 12volt power outlet (cig lighter) in my seat bucket, complete with led and switch, (click pic to watch video)
after i recieved the koso clocks and tried fitting them i found out that the speedo cable is a good 2 inches too short to reach the koso's :banghead:
i googled quickly and came accross a post on apriliadreams saying a dragster speedo cable will fit, so ive ordered one of those :good:
ive got a few other goodies ordered and even more goodies in mind:)
probably wont be able to update to often and sorry for lack of pics at the moment but ill do my best:)
heres the only other pics ive got right now and they are from the ebay ad lol,
ok so i know its been a while since i got the sr but due to lack of funds nothing much has been done
the downpipe went last week so i thought it was the perfect time to give the bike a mini overhaul
i planned to change the swingarm bushes/rubber blocks/engine bushes but have run into a little problem,
the engine bracket/swingarm is completely rusted solid, so ive had to leave that for another time when i can get the bike into a garage,
so much for the mini overhaul lol,
but i have managed to get the new downpipe and respray the panels a nice satin black with some gloss red, :yahoo:
ive resprayed the engine casing gloss black,
also the champagne coloured plastics have been painted,
the wheels are coming off tomorrow for a respray in gloss black and ive ordered some red rim tape,
im just waiting for the exhaust gaskets to arrive and then i have to paint the seat plastics/front mudguard and handlebar panel,
then time to put it all back together, :beg:
the only other thing i am stuck on is getting my ng/ice mudguard bracket to fit with th standard 125 airbox
has anyone had any luck fiting one of these with the 125 airbox still in place?

Looks the tits mate! I've got an SR50 in bits which I really need to work on, the sr's handle so nicely! I can take corners quicker on the sr than I can on the runner

cheers people glad you like it,
i will update this thread as soon as the exhaust gaskets arrive and i start putting it all back together
i got the cig lighter from ebay and just wired it to the battery with an inline fuse, power switch and led so i dont forget to switch it off,

ok,
well not much of an update as now i have noticed a crack in my exhuast so gonna have to try and get a 2nd hand one from somewhere,
heres a few pics of the bike anyway,
after looking at the red bellypanel on the bike im seriously considering spraying that satin black to match the rest of the bike,
dont suppose anyone has a 125 sr/runner sp exhaust for sale? pref local to north london

well, run into a bit of a problem now lol,
finished doin the exhaust and everything on sunday,
took the bike out,
done less than 10 miles
semi siezed
i noticed my oil pump was jammed open when i got it home and had a look
looking for a cheap second hand cylinder/piston at the moment and then removing the crappy oil pump and going premix,

It's easy mate! Just make sure you put it on a switch so that it doesn't drain your battery!
Will put up a tutorial once I do mine next month!

right, got my cylinder and piston out and the cylinder has very slight marks but the piston is finished,
got a replacement off a mate for nothing but was just as unusable,
found a brand new genuine piaggio replacement cylinder and piston for £95 delivered:
gonna be fitting it on monday i think, just waiting for the gaskets to be delivered

running again!
well i got round to fitting the cylinder/piston today,
got the bike back together and all done,
had a ride around and all seems well at the moment apart from my front brake which i need 2 take off and check the pads/pistons as the brake went from soft lever to sharp and solid lever once or twice,
im premixing now at 20ml oil per litre of petrol,
im thinking of increasing that for a while to run in the cylinder/piston?

That's a bit rich for a stocker. I run 33:1 on my mid-race and 40:1 on the stock one.
